Soft Tissue Therapy in Bracknell

Advanced hands-on treatment, brought to your door

A shoulder that's tight by mid afternoon and aching by the evening.  A jaw that clicks, a back that goes, an old injury that never quite settled.  Or a body that has simply been carrying too much for too long.

Whatever brought you here, this is the work I do.  I bring a full clinical treatment to your home, take the time to find out what's actually going on, and treat it with skilled hands.  No waiting rooms, no rushing, and nothing generic about it.

Which one sounds like you?

People come to me for five broad reasons.  You don't have to pick the right one - working that out is my job, and it's what the first session is for.  But you'll probably recognise yourself somewhere below.

PERFORM

“I train or exercise and want to support performance, recovery, or capacity.”

For people who train and want their body to keep up.

You train, race or compete, and you want your body looked after like the serious equipment it is.  Regular hands-on work builds tissue resilience, sharpens movement efficiency and improves the quality of your recovery - getting ahead of small issues before they ever become problems.  This is how you raise the ceiling, not just protect the floor.

A circular icon showing a simple abstract impression of a head and a body, the head is represented by a charcoal coloured circle and the body is represented by a mustard yellow oval. The body is encased by a pale cream spiral.

DISCOVER

“Something specific keeps flaring up or isn’t right, and I want help understanding and treating it.”

For the thing that keeps coming back and nobody's quite explained.

Something's not right, and nobody has quite told you why.  You may have seen a GP, a physio, maybe had a scan - each helped in its own way, and yet the thing itself is still there.  I assess properly, from the whole picture down to the specific tissues, and I tell you honestly what I find.  It is very rare to be beyond repair.

RELIEVE

“I have a medical or long-term condition and need symptom-aware, adaptable treatment to manage my symptoms.”

For people managing a long-term condition who need treatment that adapts to them.

The desk worker's neck and shoulders.  The clicking jaw and the tension headaches.  The lower back that goes when it feels like it.  Pain with a pattern is rarely random - and once we understand the pattern, we can start to change it.

RECOVER

“I’ve had surgery, an accident, or injury, and need support with my recovery.”

For bodies that have been through something and need support getting back.

You're through the worst of an injury or an operation, cleared to move on, but not yet back to feeling like yourself.  Careful, progressive hands-on treatment helps create the right conditions for your body to do what it already knows how to do - and helps you learn to trust it again.

RELAX

“I feel tense, overloaded, or worn down and want skilled, soothing hands-on relief.”

Skilled relief for everyday tension, stress, and the feeling of being wound too tight.

No injury, no mystery, nothing to investigate.  You want proper, skilled hands-on treatment and a couple of hours that are entirely yours.  Warm couch, volcanic hot stones, calming oils if you'd like them - the same clinical skill, applied entirely in the service of letting go.

Wherever you’re at, we start in the same place - the Foundation Session.

"Soft Tissue Therapy"…

…so, is it a massage?

You’re not alone in this question! Despite being around for 25+ years, Soft Tissue Therapy is something many people haven’t heard of - let me clue you in…

If you arrived here looking for sports massage, deep tissue massage or remedial massage, you're in the right place. Those techniques are all part of my toolkit, and I use them often. But Soft Tissue Therapy sits in a slightly different spot, somewhere between a sports massage therapist and a physiotherapist.

The anatomy and clinical training go a good deal further than a typical sports massage therapist covers. But unlike physiotherapy, the work stays firmly hands-on, sitting alongside home exercises and rehab rather than relying on them as the only solution. It's why I tend to become the go-to for clients who know they need more than "just a massage", but who also want proper hands-on support alongside their exercises, something that can sometimes feel missing elsewhere. Physiotherapy and sports massage both do excellent work in their own right - Soft Tissue Therapy just fills the gap between them.

The difference is the reasoning. Before I treat anything, I look at how you move, test what's restricted, and build a picture of why your body feels the way it does. Every technique in the session is chosen because of what your body showed me, not picked from a menu. And the treatment itself is part of the assessment - what I feel under my hands tells me as much as any movement test.

So yes, if you want a really good massage, you'll get one. You'll just also get the clinical brain behind it, and the hands-on support that ties it all together.

The clinic comes to you

I bring everything: a professional treatment couch, fresh linen, and all equipment a session needs. You provide some floor space and a plug socket. That's genuinely it.

There's a clinical reason I work this way, beyond the convenience for my clients. Deep hands-on work can leave you very relaxed, and the last thing your body needs afterwards is to fold itself into a car and join a queue of traffic. When we finish, you're already home, so the treatment gets to keep working rather than tightening back up on the drive. No waiting room, no car park to find, no heading back out into the rain when you'd rather not move at all.

I'm based in Bracknell and cover the surrounding towns, including Wokingham, Crowthorne, Sandhurst, Binfield, Warfield and Ascot. On Thursdays, I'm in Farnham (Surrey) and the villages around it. Not sure whether I reach you? Just ask, the answer is usually yes.

In the future I may take on clinic space, for clients whose homes don't quite suit a treatment couch, or who'd simply rather come to me. If that's you, let me know below. I'm keeping a note of who's interested, and it'll help me work out when and where that happens.

I'm a Soft Tissue Therapist, trained at the London School of Sports Massage to BTEC Level 5, the highest professional qualification in this field, and a member of the Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage.

I started The Arden Practice because I kept meeting people who had done everything right.  They'd seen the GP, done the exercises, maybe had the scan.  Each step helped a little, and yet the thing itself was still there, because what was missing wasn't effort.  It was time, attention and skilled hands.  That's the gap my practice exists to fill.
